Final Grades are up!

March 31, 2007

Next week will be the holy week, and on Monday, April 2 is the enrolment for the summer classes here in UIC. My grades for all my subjects handled for the Second semester are all up already. I have handled Computer Programming 2, Systems Analysis and Design 1 and Presentation Skills in IT.

In my Computer Programming 2 classes for instance, I have 4 sections out of 6. The other 2 classes were handled by two different teachers. I have 106 students all in all in the 4 sections, out from these numbers, only 60 students have passed the subject, it’s more than 50% percent.

In my Systems Analysis and Design 1 class, I just handled 1 section of the 2. The other section was handled by different teacher. In this subject, I have 23 students and out from these students, only 17 have successfully complied and passed the requirements of the subject.

Lastly, in my Presentation Skills class, I just handled one section out from the 6 sections. In my class, I have 27 students and only 20 have passed the subject. Good number of passers for this class.

It is difficult to be a teacher. You have to balance everything from instruction to decision. They said, that sometimes needs to be compassionate, just sometimes. It’s performance based, but sometimes characters of the students matters a lot, it really matters, the tip of my pen sometimes or all the time is powerful in decision making.

God bless everyone!-etb-

Completion of Grades for the Second Semester!

March 29, 2007

This week is my completion of my grades for my students for this semester. I have handled these following subjects: Computer Programming 2, Systems Analysis and Design 1 and Presentation Skills in IT. As usual, verdict will be coming from me, at the same time, being compassionate in all sense will rule here. As history, I am failing students who ahve no interest in the subject or shall we say, students who have no efforts as all in passing the subject. This pertaining to my Programming subject, 50% of the batch have failed in my classes including the non-attending and dropped students.

But, I will just update with it later this afternoon, I will just contemplate and reflect for some students whom I feel deserves to pass the subject.

That why, being a teacher is a noble profession, you touch lives of individuals!

Good luck and God bless to them!

StarStruck Season 4 Moment of Truth

March 26, 2007

good day bloggers!

It was last night that the moment of truth of the Season 4 StarStruck has been revealed. It was in Marikina Sports Complex hosted by Raymond Gutierrez, Jolina Magdangal and Dingdong Dantes, filled with people who are avid fans of the final 6 and the program itself. Poeple were there to witness actually the said momentous event in the reality artista search on TV. GMA spearheading this search.

It was almost 1 AM when the program ended. It was different story this time since the last three seasons just declared two winners, the ultimate survivor for male and female. This time has two sets of winners, one is for the Ultimate Loveteam and the Ultimate Hunk and Sweetheart respectively.

Actually, my bets were the winners. Here are the list of winners:

Ultimate Loveteam: Mart Escudero and Kris Bernal

 Ultimate Hunk: Aljur Abrenica

 Ultimate Sweetheart: Jewel Mische

Totally, the winners were truly deserving!

For more details, please visit the website of the StarStruck: The Next Level.

At last I graduated from my MIM degree!

March 23, 2007

Last Saturday was the graduation ceremony here in our university. That week also was really a mixing moment for me, I am sure the same emotion with my fellow classmates in the graduate school. Most of the graduating students have their practices already, knowing the sequence, other graduating stuffs and shall we say they have already the fixed and exact idea that they belong in the batch of graduating students in that saturday! THEY WERE SURE TO THAT! BUT HEY WHAT ABOUT ME?!

As for me, I cannot understand my emotion that week since we are in the case of waiting for something, no feedback or shall we say, no assurance about the result of the last subject (Org. DB to be exact!). We were 12 takers for this subject 2 from MIM and 10 from MIT. Flashback from the history of the graduate school especially in this subject and its professor, there is/are always retakers for this. Enough for that!

The result was in last thursday! I PASSED, i really felt sorry for my other 10 classmates for they did not make it to the subject. Only two passed and also only two were the graduates for MIM/MIT, one for MIM (who is me, thanks GOd!) and one for MIT. History repeats itself!

My efforts and sacrifices for the past months of review and sleepless night were paid off! I earned my masteral degree with confidence and dignity!-lol-

THE 300 MOVIE - Prepare for Glory!

Last Sunday I’d watched the movie "300" because some of my friends recommended this as movie to watch for this quarter. I together with my gf had watched the movie. It was mixed emotion and comments from the two of us. I was satisfied with the whole content but my gf, she insisted that the ending part of the movie was hanging and it need for part 2.

Here’s the synopsis of the movie:

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller’s (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale. Visit this site for the review (Review of the Film).

God bless everyone!

Prepare for glory! (strucking statement from the movie!)

It’s my birthday yesterday!

March 13, 2007

Good day bloggers!

Because of my hectic schedules, I nearly forgot my natal day, thanks to my mom who called me up all the way from the other part of the world two hours before hitting the 12 midnight transformation of the day from 11 to 12, just to greet in my special day. Yes, it was my birthday yesterday! -lol- aside from my mom, my special someone has texted me as well, my brother, close friends and students. It was the time that I came to my senses that it was really my birthday!

Actually, I was not feeling well that sunday, I was planning as well not to go to work to have rest at home but you know, you cannot live the day without your routinary tasks to be accomplished. So, I have decided to go to work!

Some of my students greeted me, and one of my colleagues and student before treated me with sumptuous snacks at Cheese Cake somewhere in Jacinto Extension. See, everybody loves me that day…hahahha…

——back to work—– I will blog the details later…

God bless everyone! Take care!
