December 8 - NO CLASS!

December 8, 2006

Good day bloggymates!

Our university has no class this day, because it’s her day today, celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. All catholic schools here in our place, maybe in all parts of the country have no classes also to commemorate her blessedness.

—–Back in the History—–

Roman Catholic holy day first celebrated in 1854. The dogma of the unique privilege by which the Virgin Mary was conceived in her mother’s womb without the stain of original sin through the anticipated merits of Jesus Christ.

—————————-

It was started with an assembly held at UIC Main Campus at 5:00 - 5:50 AM, then procession reigned heading to San Pedro Cathedral. A mass was celebrated to honor the Blessed Mother.

Actually, the preparation was started yesterday afternoon. Afternoon classes were suspended that time to let students, faculty, administrators and other involved personalities prepared themselves for the event.

This evening as well, will be the yearly gathering of Alumni to be held at the Davao Convention Center. I myself was an alumnus of this university, but honestly I am not an active participant for this annual event, maybe next time. Huh, as what others are always saying, "Pink Forever".

God bless everyone!
