University of the Immaculate Conception is hosting this time for some events. These are the Cheerdance Competition, Championship Events for Outdoor Games and Indoor Games, and also to culminate the celebration is the ITE NYT’06 which showcase Modern Dance Competition, Acoustic Challenge, the MTV Spoof and the Awarding Ceremenony.
There will be 18+ participating schools this year coming from the different parts of Region XI. This year’s PSITS celebration is quite incomplete since there will be no Regional Quiz Bowl and Computer Programming Competition. This competition showcase the brightest and smartest ITE students in the region. All participating schools will send their best set of students to compete and you cannot predict this year of who will be the winners.
Last year’s competitions were dominated by big universities in the region. University of Mindanao had won the overall crown as the PSITS 2005 Champion, followed closely by Ateneo de Davao University and University of the Immaculate Conception landed at 3rd place. To be specific, in the quiz bowl, San Pedro College and University of the Immaculate Conception had a head-to-head fight in the final round. But San Pedro College won by a margin of 1 point only that puts UIC in the 2nd place and AdDU in the 3rd place. Computer Programming Competition is one of the highlights of PSITS last year held at the AdDU Jacinto Campus. The University of the Philippines proved that they were the team to beat with 5 problems solved, followed closely with AdDU and UIC with both 4 problems solved, just had a difference in time spent in solving the problems.
All in all, last year’s PSITS celebration was successful and we’ll wait for this year, if it will surpasses last year’s impact without IT olympiad.
TROPICAL STORM “REMING” (international code name: Durian) yesterday became a “supertyphoon” as it approached the eastern part of Luzon with winds stronger than those of Typhoon “Milenyo,” which slammed into Metro Manila and Luzon in late September.

After Davey’s crying moment before leaving the academy, the excitement for new sets of probationary scholars are in.
All of the nominees except for Panky are veterans for nomination. Now, it’s the people choice that counts. I guess Panky will gonna work out more to behave inside the academy for just one week up to the expulsion night. But we cannot the fact, that viewers are observing her through the months of staying in the academy. The masses are really perceiving that she is bad brat, others were saying that she’s just misunderstood by everybody even her academates.
Well, for Irish, she sang "Somewhere over the rainbow". The judges then commented that she registered excellently on TV but she has to work out her connectivity to the audience. There is no problem with her physical appearance, what she need is to exert an effort to reach out and let her songs be felt by her viewers.
Ronnie again is one of the hot seats for expulsion night this saturday. He sang "He raised me up by Josh Groban". Ronnie has no problem regarding the votes coming from the masses. Aside from the package physically, one of the judges commented that he has to play and sing the song with his own rendetion not to mention, the song he has chosen was good enough to put justice. In other words, no originality.
Eman is also one of the nominees but I know Emman will be more better this week. This Ilonggo fighter really has the guts to finish the song powerfully but only lacks consistency. Ilonggo people and the visayas regions will vote for panky and emman since they are from this portion of the archipelago.
